Roughly
three-quarters of elder adults needing assistance count
on friends and family for help. It is hard to admit to oneself that the
ability to maintain complete independence fades as one ages. Some
people feel shame and embarrassment as they face diminished capacity to
do everything without help. There can be a sense of denial--not only
with the person losing their ability to go about life independently, but
also within their families. It is hard to ask for help without feeling
a sense of guilt or obligation to family and friends. The goal is to
maintain as much independence as possible and I can help.
There For You
was founded by me in 2005 to
create an
outlet for families who need an extra hand as they try to balance work,
family and caring for aging parents and other loved ones. I provide
service with warm concern and care for each client, delivered in a
professional manner - a combination that can't be beat! You can relax
and feel secure knowing your
loved one is in safe hands. I will stay in touch with you to
alert you about any important changes or situations that arise.
In the years since I started
There For You, I have had over 85 clients.
I have become a
trustworthy friend to many who welcome my help. Many of my life
experiences have helped enrich the lives of others. I am the extra
"daughter" or "sister" you need.
I am an advocate for seniors and boomers as we forge through this life
stage, this river of aging. I hear amazing stories. I hear family
histories, jokes and some tall tales. I hear family secrets, sometimes
shocking in content. Tears are shed as we share the details of life's
flow. We cry for those lost to us and for those we will soon lose. I
listen. I listen as family members share their frustration, their
worries, their anger, and their love as they deal with a way to get help
for themselves and their loved ones.
Commitment, experience, and expertise - these are all words that help
describe the service I provide. Lasting, valuable friendships
are made that have a reassuring, positive affect on everyone.
Before creating
THERE FOR YOU, I was the marketing director for an
assisted living facility, where I interacted with residents and staff
on a daily basis. I felt a real need to reach out and help families
who were struggling to find the time to get everything done.
A consultant for baby boomers, many rely on my expertise as I help them
navigate the issues of aging. I believe aging for boomers will be
vastly
different than it is for the current generation and will keep you
informed about current technological developments. Read my
blog for
more insight.
I share my passions for the lighter side of life,
too. I would love to live at least 200 years so I can indulge in all
the interest I have now and the ones I'll have in the future! I am an
avid gardener with a keen eye for floral design. My clients
have received beautiful bouquets and special favors - just because. I
have a flair for interior design using lots of warmth, color, and
atmosphere to create an inviting environment. I also love to decorate
beautiful cakes - some of which I share with clients. Enjoy the
pictures I have below to see some of my creations!
